Project Overkill

Project Overkill - 02/24/09 08:10 AM

So my landlord wanted to take down a Palo Verde tree.
Naturally, I volunteered.
See, I had these newly convexed blades begging for action.
It took less than three minutes to wreak this havoc.
A barkie strop cleaned 'em right up, back to shaving sharp in no time!

Should have used a Scrap Yard Dog Father! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I've beat Pine trees down to roots using mine! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

I'd like a DF but I don't know about those aftermarket prices.
Waiting for my M9LE and a custom 9" Chopper, with those plus the BRKT Golok and some machetes on the way I should make do.
A DF wouldn't hurt though! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

That looks very cool.
Great looking blades and a small workout for them!

Peace.

He has a short DF, the SOD. It could have easily taken down that tree. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The best way to make yard work fun is with all your toys. If you get to burn what you chop down it is all the better!

Nice work Art! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Now it's time to dig up that trunk! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Re: Project Overkill - 02/25/09 03:55 AM

Funny you should say that Jeff, I just did and that was the REAL workout!
Roots are definitely the enemy!

The SOD missed out, it's waiting for some real trees to take down! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I wish I could light it up, but being in California means no way jose.
I can save it and light it up for my camping trip in Joshua Tree!

What did that tree do to you! I mean come on! Your such a bully......wrong forum! J/K Nice work on that tree third world grind shop!

I need to take a tree down in the back yard maybe when I get back this weekend I will give it a go, but I better order that bark river strop or something comparable first.
I now you have heard this before but nice avatar!

Thanks Gambit, every time I see your name I think of the new Wolverine movie coming out. It'll be the first to have Gambit in it, hopefully they don't mess it up. I asked Jeff to put the avatar on the sheath for the SOD that he's making for me. I'll post pics once I get it.

Imaginefj, I have been feeling a little guilty since my landlord has never increased rent on me or requested anything from me. She leaves me be and it's a perfect setup. I felt it was the least I could do, definitely scored some points though!

I think they casted a good person for the character in the new movie, not sure if he can act but it should be good.

I bet ever since your landlord saw the havoc you can do with that axe he never bugged you about being late on the rent again. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Ha! She was a little freaked out when the ammo started showing up and then the knives. I confessed and showed her the guns and stuff but it wasn't until someone tried to break in and the cops showed up that I had some validation. The cop saw my AR and said I should probably keep it in a safe, I said in that case I'll get a shotgun to keep by my side. He surprised us both when he said that was a good idea, cheaper and deadlier. I don't feel so bad about living in Cali now.

Jim Lee's version was always my favorite:
