Greetings from Kathmandu.
I have scored a couple Khukris from a Gurkha. I set them next to a Paratchutmandu for size comparison. The large one is HEAVY. It has to be the thickest blade I own.
The Gurkha was chopping red bricks with one to show its strength. I inspected the blade and there were no chips in the cutting edge.

One of these little guys is a tiny knife. The other is a knife steel for sharpening.
The man I bought them from showed me two categories; tourist knives and work knives. The highly decorated knives were not full tang, thinner blades and he said he doesn't recommend using them. I didn't buy those.
