To this day I don't know how I managed to make the kindling and build the fire
I was extremely lucky that I knew of the old logging office trailer, it had been abandoned in the 1960's and was only a part roof and bits and pieces of walls
However it gave protection from the rain and most of the wind

I was 16 at the time and neither my friend or I smoked
But both our dad's drummed into our heads the importance of a fire kit when outdoors

What was planned to be a short trip across the lake and back, was changed by unexpected rain and wind

We were to stubborn to head the warning signs and almost paid the price
