Realistically, something that long and thin sounds like it would not meet the warranty requirements for strength over the long haul with hard users. Unconditional warranty needs unconditional strength to match or the warranty will get expensive very quickly for the manufacturer. .18 is pretty thin and flexible already, much thinner... I'll pass. There are a lot of cheap machetes out there I would not feel bad destroying or losing in the environments where they are most needed (which I also tend to avoid). I will stick to the 1311 that works very well at these tasks but is tough enough to be beaten on too, and I don't have to wait for vaporware.
