It reads like you might want only the red sharpened and nothing behind it to include the spike? Or do you want the spike sharpened too? It's a good idea I pondered myself and part of why I sold my rattlehawk before someone in the family hurt themselves. The sharpened inside of the beard would really mess up a hand if it slipped into it.
I preferred the KDSH of the two.
