OK, I got my TRASH Tuesday, and haven't had a chance to use it for anything yet, BUT I do have some initial observations.
1. It is noticeably lighter than the BGASH, due to the ASH being a full tang, with the front talon hole and rear lanyard holes all adding to the weight along with heavier handle material. That being said, the BGASH does balance well in my opinion.
2. The TRASH IS blade heavy, and naturally the further you hold the handle toward the rear the more this becomes pronounced. I think to get the same balance "Feel" you need to put your second finger in the choil and your third finger where your hand would normally rest on the handle, which will naturally place your pointer finger forward and will give you a lot greater control.
3. I think the TRASH will be a great End of the World blade, one you can take anywhere and use in confidence that it WILL NOT FAIL. I like it for the lighter weight and indestructible construction.
4. Will I carry this blade, You betcha! Would I pick it for a "Combat Blade"? NOPE, I would pick the S6 for this. It is lighter and has a different blade profile more conducive to the needs of combat Vs Survival.
5. Am I dissing the TRASH, not at all. I wouldn't be to concerned if it were the only knife I had, just trying to give Y'all a NON scientific observation for what's its worth. And of course your mileage may vary. I hope these observations make sense to you.
