Personaly I'm kind of burned out on the whole (westernized)tanto point thing so I probably (not a complete no) wouldn't pick one up.

I think something more traditional like these would be great.

I am with you Bors. I have a couple of tanto blades. lacking the curve up fron really reduces the cutting value/functionality for common tasks. The tips you picture (and the tw style) look good; closer to the SYKCO philsospohy of function not style?
