Wow, Knifeguy. Your theories are much better than mine. I just figured the workers got bored and doodled on the blades! My DF just has a "Z" on the tang where a tang stamp would go, but the Dumpster Mutt had deep scratches like DN's Dog Father. Took a lot of grinding to remove.
I had the same idea along the lines of doodling, but I had the same Z on a few of the Rats that I stripped, Camp Tramps, Battle Rats and a couple of Ratwielers. I had a vision of some worker at the shop with a Zorro complex. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
