Sorry to reply so late but I had to make up my mind <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
I am looking for a good knife I can rely on while backpacking, not too expensive, not too heavy, not too big but not too small <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
After looking through affordable camp knives such as Ontario RAT, Ranger Knives, and non affordable ones <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> like Spyderco Hossoms, Swamp Rats, I think that Scrap Yard Knives is the way to go <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
As I watch my rucksack weight, I'd like to carry only one blade and a small multi-tool, so it would be my all-around knife outside of town.
To sharpen it I'll bring a small triangle ceramic file or use the diamond file of the multi-tool.
I won't have anything against rust (that's why I was interested in Spydie Hossoms).
I'd like to take it while traveling so low profile is a good option, I might get a pink sheath <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> or use pokemon stickers <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />.
I don't know if the Yard Guard is designed for camp/utility use but I like the way it looks, so I try to see pics of it in action and being carried.
