I have always wanted a GB axe ,they really are the best there is. I would probably cheap out and get a Wetterling though as they are almost as good but don't have all the expensive hand finishing that goes into a GB. Whether I take an axe and a small knife or a big chopper and a small knife mostly depends on the type of terrain I am in. Right around my house is a mix of nice hard anfd soft woods so it is axe country but farther north in the canadian shield or in the prairie a chopper is much more useful on the thinner vegetation.
I actually found a Wetterling hatchet head under the seat of an old truck and ground the rust off and putt a long straight hawk handle on it. It has not gotten much use since I finished my CS hawk though.
