I have all three kinds of sheaths, and I generally determine my sheath material by the knife's use, more than the knife itself. I have a few kydex sheaths for my knives that I'll be using w/ the military. My Dogfather chopper supreme is in a beautiful yet rugged leather sheath. Some of my EDC's are in leather, others are in kydex. The knives that I have that came w/ nice cordura sheaths, I've generally just left alone. But I doubt that cordura will ever be my "first choice" for a sheath.

I carry a RAT3 for EDC. My main folders are a CRKT M16-SFA, a Bechmade CQC7, and Cold Steel Voyager.
