The problem is that when you've been lurking as long as I have, the expectations I set for my first post were reaching disastrous proportions. This invitation actually makes it quite painless… especially after the unpleasantness of the past few days when I thought I’d be making my first post to most of you somewhere else!
In any case, what I have determined during my months of post-less-ness is that this is the most civil, respectful, articulate, and engaging community I have yet encountered online; I give my congratulations to you all and I look forward to contributing as best I’m able.
