My sense of things is that after the DMLE, Dan will be ready to move beyond SR77, at least for awhile.
I hope he's not in a rush. A2 doesn't really offer anything over INFI/SR101/SR77. ATS-34's only interesting trait is it's stainless. D2 would be nice for a smaller knife as it holds a wicked edge, but there are durability concerns with hard use. S30V made sense for the folder, but that was about it. None of the other steels Busse has used are really worth mentioning. I'd like to see Scrapyard do something with SR101, but beyond that (and assuming Jerry's not handing out any more INFI) stick with SR-77.
