Sorry, I did not give an explanation, but I was getting ready for work.
The damage happened while I was chopping on a wooden pallet.  I was making sure that I did not hit any nails while chopping it down.  While twisting out the blade from a fairly deep chop, the blade edge ripped (maybe a 1/8").  Naturally this concerned me. 
So I figured, I would see if I could get it to continue to fracture up the blade, which it did.  I later stripped the blade and noticed the spine of the blade there were cracks straight down the middle of the blade.  It has to be a defective Dogfather
I contacted Patti and shipped the blade back to the shop.  There were going to let me know if it could be re-sharpen or was it a total loss.  That was three months ago.  I have been told every two weeks that the shop was going to contact Patti as to my options. 
No new information as of today.  I am not upset just a little disappointed, but I understand this is a growing company and Military deserve to be top priority.  I may have posted the pic out of disappointment.
