In light of the number of objectionable posts that seem to be showing up more and more lately, I have decided to create this post to clarify some things.

This post will be updated to reflect changes as we figure things out! If you have suggestions or would like to add something to this post, please send me a private message.

First and foremost, the Scrap Yard is suppose to be a fun place where we can hang out and discuss Scrap Yard knives and other Busse knives.
A lot of members have young children who are around when they are on the forum.

With that in mind, here are the rules:

1. This is a family forum, so keep things clean. This includes your forum name and what you use as an avatar.
2. No foul language, no insults & no questionable photos (disgusting, adult, provocative, etc). Think G rated.
3. No discussing anything illegal.
4. No for sale/wanted to buy/looking for ads, deal spotting, give aways or raffles.
5. When in doubt, play it safe!
6. No discussing other manufacturer's products. Comparisons and chopoff are great though! Busse Combat and Swamp Rat discussions are also fine. Please confine the none Rat Trap folder discussion to the folder thread located HERE.
7. Do not hijack the threads of others.
8. Only one login per user, do not create random users for your own amusement.
9. No slamming/bad mouthing other forums or products.
10.No digital editing/changing pictures of Bussekin knives.
11.No passarounds allowed, not even Bussekin knives.

Breaking the rules MAY result in either a temporary or permanent ban from the Scrap Yard Forum

Please keep in mind this is a manufacturer specific forum. It is not a general discussion forum & is here primarily to discuss Scrap Yard products, their use & enjoying the great outdoors!

How do I get a Scrap Yard knife?

On 2008-09-24 Dumpster Dan made a major change to the way you can buy knives at the Yard (http://www.scrapyardknives.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=Knives&Number=213988). Scrap Yard Knives will now take orders on 1 or 2 models for approx. 4-6 weeks (depending on the model) and will then discontinue that offer. NO additional orders will be accepted until those models come back around in the model rotation. It could be 2 to 3 years before those models are made available again. This approach allows the customer a better chance of getting in on a model offering while allowing us to batch process or group build knives. This, in turn, assists us in keeping a lower cost of production, while ensuring high quality bladeware and the high performance that has become the hallmark of Scrap Yard Knives.

So get on over to http://shop.scrapyardknives.com/main.sc and get your fill of Scrap Yard goodness! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /><img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

For those curious here is the old process:
The way Scrap Yard Works is as follows. Dan announces a new blade & then later on announces the release date. A batch of blades are manufactured and made available on the release date. Once they are sold out, we sit back and wait for the next release. Your best bet is to visit the forum once in a while to check and see when the next blade is due to be released. You want to be around at the release time as Scrap Yard blades have a history of selling out at a high rate of speed.

However it never hurts to check out the Scrap Yard store at http://shop.scrapyardknives.com/main.sc. You never know what you might find there! Plus you can score a bunch of schwag!

When is the next release?

Keep an eye at the store http://shop.scrapyardknives.com/main.sc and on the forums. Announcements for new models will normally be pinned to the top.

Where can I get old models of knives

There is a busy secondary market. The two main options are the exchange forums over on www.bladeforums.com and the Busse Kin Exchange at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bussekinexchange/
Please keep in mind that NEITHER source is endorsed by Scrap Yard knives. Links are provided for your convenience only.
