hah. i'll try to take it like a man if you change your mind. i'm sure everyone here would enjoy a funny slash story.

OK, when Slash's house in LA(Billy Bob Thornton lives there now) was damaged in the earthquake and then a mudslide after the earthquake damage was repaired, he decided to move away from LA. He was looking at property in the Sacramento area and was here visiting with my sister in Auburn(She knew him from her work with rescuing big cats). They went to dinner at a local club along with his manager and there was a southern rock band playing. Slash thought they were pretty good, but not playing loud enough as there was a guy talking on the phone in the room. Slash said he shouldn't have been able to hear the phone if they were playing loud enough.

Anyways, the band finishes the set and the keyboardist comes over and introduces himself and says, " I know you're not, but you look just like Slash from G&R" Everyone laughs and Slash says, "Yeah, I get that all the time. My name is Saul and this is Dawn and ...."

The guy is a total G&R's fan and is recounting stories of going to see them in concert and at little clubs when they were still an unknown band. He gets around to asking about what they do and Slash tells him he plays guitar and his friend plays the drums. Then Slash mentions something about opening for Poison and the guy says, "Hey, what's the name of your band? I may have heard of it."

Slash looks at my sister and then his manager and then looks the guy in the eye and says, "Well, you had it right the first time."

Now remember, they've been talking for about 20 minutes or so now. The guy about has a heart attack and runs over to tell the rest of the band. Of course, after that it's chaos. Slash signed some t-shirts and a few other things for the people still hanging out.

Years later I'd still hear rumors that Slash was moving to Auburn and had bought a horse ranch in the foothills. He never did find a place he liked up here though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
