It has been my experience that the other knife makers mostly want to ignore the Busse clan and hope that they will just go away. They dismiss the "Busse Challenge" as meaningless and not worth their time to respond. Some have told me that Busse is all advertising hype and that there is no substance to their claims.
Talk about hiding your head in the sand! But what else can they do? They cannot compete head to head with Busse so the only tactics that they can employee is to try to marginalize the Busse companies and dismiss them as "minor players" in hopes that customers will never hear about them or lose interest when the other guys dangle their pretty baubles in front of them.
There are a lot of good knife makers out there and many of them make really good knives, but I have never found anything else to compete with the Busse family. I am proud to be a Busseholic and I am looking forward to my next shot of SR77 (or INFI or SR-101).
