IPA stands for Indian pale Ale. Colorwise it sits somewhere between an Amber ale, and the traditional golden yellow of many beers. However, it's considerably more hoppier and bitter. In addition it has a higher alcohol content, around 6%. It's a lot like a Sam Adams but a bit more dry and bitter.

Flying Dog brewery makes about 6 or 8 different styles of beer. However, I've only tried the IPA and their Amber ales so far.
