KSJ, Wow! Thanks for the great pix. How do you like the sheath? Does it have some kind of insert for the blade? Hope mine will show up soon I ordered it on 2-7.

I like the sheath so far but all I've done is inspect it visually and slid the Dogfather in and out a few times! It does have a plastic insert. The fit is snug against the spine with just a hint of rattle on the edge side. The velcro strap keeps it snug. The next few weeks will tell how tuff the sheath will be.

The knife is a bit lighter than I expected (compared to my FBM) which is a plus for me because I will be using it in the field extensively for awhile. The res-c handle is fantastic when you're chopping. I kindled four 5 inch diameter logs with it and chopped through/split three knots and could not appreciate any edge deformity or perceived dulling. There was a piece of white paper in the box it shipped in with several cuts in it that I presumed was to show the edge sharpness at shipping. It came ALMOST shaving sharp. After my chopping fun, it still cut paper easily without snags BUT I RAN THE BLADE OVER MY SPYDERCO 204 TRIANGLE CERAMIC RODS ONLY 10 STROKES AFTER MY CHOPPING AND SPLITTING AND THE BLADE SHAVED A 1 INCH WIDE STRIP OFF MY HAIRY ARM!

Being in Texas I got mine first but I paid TAX! It was worth it this time though.
