I now have about 30 minutes experience with the DF and it sure seems to be everything that I was expecting. I spent about 20 minutes chopping a pine tree that had recently fallen down. I know that pine is a soft wood but it was the first target that presented itself. As expected the DF made very short work of the tree.
Anyway after 20 minutes of that the blade was filthy with pine tar and scuffs. I brought it back into the house and washed it with warm water and soap. It cleaned up real well. Then I gave it the paper cutting test (I did not test it before chopping). It cut paper very smoothly and evenly with no snags or grabs. Not too shabby.
