I have used Duracoat on firearms, AR mags, a couple of knives and Kydex. It's works well on Kydex, pretty well on firearms but not too well on knives in my experience. Duracoat is essentially a coating from Sherwin Williams repackaged by Lauer as a firearms specific coating. It actually takes a bit of trial and error to learn how to use the coating effectively. After using it for a couple of years, I setteled on Krylon spray paint. I like it better for knives and such because you will inevitably need to re apply whatever paint type coating you put on a knife that you use. Krylon is cheaper and is my preference.

Bottom line, I would opt for something other than Duracoat.
