It's simple economics, Dan created a disign that is popular with many groups( including the rats that want to remember the old days) and priced it so it can be within the reach of many. Think of it as a "gateway" knife to the yard. Just like how to scrapper 6 was. People will buy this knife as their first scrapper because of the price and allaround disign then buy more as they come out. Also since the release the forum has been booming.
