Thanks. I wish I could get a lot more support in regards to this part of many of the knife designs.
I think there is a much better chance of making these types of improvements if others help in being more active in requesting improvements from time to time.

I think many just feel we should just get what we get.

The guards and choils are some of my biggest issues with a lot of Busse and kin knife designs - especially on smaller to mid-sized knives.

I don't mind large guards and over-sized choils on big 10" choppers. The DF and DFLE is fine.

But pretty much any knife 8" or less, I prefer smaller guards and small choils.

If the choil is a usable finger choil, fine, make a small guard and a reasonable reach from the regular grip to the finger choil and keep the blade in as close as reasonably possible for use in the regular grip.

If the choil is not a finger choil and just for sharpening, then I REALLY like a small guard and small choil. On smaller blades especially and knives like the Nessy style, I use the blade edge in very tight and close to the handle for peeling type work, feathering and many types of cutting tasks. There is a lot more control up in close to the handle for many types of cutting tasks.

I would REALLY like to see this area addressed.

And since it might take a group effort, I hope for more support as well.
