Since Scrap Yard knives are made primarily for military use, the tan makes sense. One candidate for President said we might have troops over in the middle east for 100 years. The tan would certainly blend in with the desert sand better than black. I even speculated that maybe tan was the "new" black, but since then all the knives offered in the store have had black handles and either satin or black blades.
