All great gear to have, one thing is key ...... HAVE IT WITH YOU when you need it!
Thinking back to 9/11, I had to go into work (I am in wa. state) I grabbed my type of "GO" bag, I had a gas mask with 2 filters, ar15 with 20 loade mags, a 5 gal jug o water, a box of mre's, and a 9mm with 2 boxes o ammo. That was the basics that I thought that I might need to get someware, not to mention the other stuff I always have in my truck, keltec sub 40 under the seat, lighter, space blanket tarp, etc, etc.
The more stuff the better, but be realistic of what you will carry.
Day to day I carry a handgun with enough ammo to get me out of a jam, couple of pocket knives, rifle under the seat, some mre's, and a basic first aid kit.
I do have a buddy that has a HK 91 with 1000 rounds stuffed away in his rig, not to mention all of the other goodies(you can only imagine)
All of that said, Carry what you can to suit you needs, ie urban, woods, city, whatever.
