Banana Clip,
thanks for asking the $64000 question. I came across the scrapyard website quite by accident as I was looking for a knife to take into the bush with me. My preference in knives is something that is highly reliable and functional. I don't care about any "fancy" looks as that has no value to me -- although I do appreciate the beautiful lines of a good knife. Also, I didn't want to spend big bucks on a knife -- I'd be too afraid to take it into the bush for fear of ruining my investment! My favorite knives so far have been the Becker line of knives (now defunct), Cold steel (whose carbon v knives are also no longer) and the ontario rat series of survival knives. In my opinion, these knives represent incredible value, functionality and durability. If the world ended today, I would not hesitate to set out into the barren wasteland with one of those knives!
I have been trying to find out for months now how you can order knives from this company. I emailed
patti@scrapyardknives.com (on several occasions) and never received a reply back -- even if to say, "you idiot, you need to check out the forum." I think that if nobody is going to reply to your emails, then the scrapyard folks should at least say something on their website about what the deal is for ordering knives. Just my perspective.
