While one sometimes wonders if Busse blades are ever used on BF but then you have a lot of people there who buy them to trade or resell. Also most people take pics when they are new. Currently I've an unused Koster because I haven't had time to use it yet. My blades are used (not really abused) and every single scratch is a mark of honour.
You may be right but my pet peeve is seeing new knives layed out on a table( I'd rather see these than none at all) but to me the best pics are those showing a well used blade in a setting that it was designed for, forest, lake , field, campsite etc !!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
