Pardon me if I simplify but if SY knives are made from Busse scraps then why would the INFI be any different?

The INFI wouldn't be any different, my crazy mind thought that the HT was different.

HT can make a big difference between a good knife and a bad knife.

Of course, all Busse kin have probably the best HT any steel can get. 40+ hours.
Keep in mind that the SS4 blade has the word INFI engraved on it. INFI is a proprietary trademark belonging to Busse Combat. Do you really think Jerry would let a knife come to market that bore his trademark and was made out of an inferior grade of his alloy?

Next subject.

I didn't say the components of the steel would be different. After all INFI is INFI.

Well, hate to break it too you but Scrapyard INFI is different from Busse INFI. They have to completely different HT which bring different properties.

Though, I doubt you'll notice the difference under normal use.

I'd suggest you try one out. I'm not a big fan of the SS4 because the blade is so small. I wouldn't have too much use for it.

I do want a Bog Dog really badly. I think one of those would be a great Bushcraft knife. Good sized blades with Mudders.

how is it diffrent if it's made outta the same steel?
