The day has finally dawned. Yesterday I received a call that I have waited for since September.
At 9:20 AM, tomorrow morning I will be interviewing with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County for the position that I have coveted. I have to go through this formality, but I already know what the answer is.
I have been working my butt off since September to make this happen, the reason I have not been here (on the forum) as often as I used to be. Tomorrow that will all change.
The last interview I did was for a naturalist postion, which I knew in advance, I was not going to get. I just went throught the procedure to get an understanding of how the interview worked.
Tomorrow is different however. For the first time since 1996 (when the last guy retired) The Forest Preserves will have an on staff archaeologist....... ME!!!!!
My hard work and wait is over. I now have 68,000 acres of woodland, ponds, rivers, creeks, hills and fields as my office. This will be part time for the first year and then full time after a year.
For the first time in my life, I will be a paid archaeologist.
By the way, since I have not been on as much I have MANY photos to post of knives................. MANY!!!!
I just wanted to share the news with my SY Brothers!
WOW that is great news.
I know you have work like crazy for this...it is well deserved
Congrats
