GEOMETRY!
THAT is what cuts.
if a knife has the proper geometry AND a recurve I think it may have an advantage in cutting than a straight edge.
the YH/YG is a very thick blade with a sabre grind.
it's not the best cutter no matter what shape you make the knife.
it is one heck o f a prybar and heavy use knife though.

That could be why the Camp Tramp chops better than some recurves. I have an Entrek Destroyer, a small 8" blade bolo. It chops poorly compared to the Chopweiler, but I think it is the edge geometry. My old CS MTC Kukri, 1/8" thick 1095 (pre Carbon V) chops well, and it is definitely a recurve as are all kukris and most bolos. When I say bolo, I mean bigger than the DF, like 12" to 14" blade, but not too thick, maybe 1/8" to 3/16". Something not too heavy to swing with speed.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
