I never thought of that Adam but I guess the blasted finish would hold more oil or wax. It does open the pores though. I am a big fan of the satin finishes. They are the only Busse finish you can maintain without any equipment ,they look terrific and are a bit less rustable. A really nice mirror polish like the one Rosarms does is a pretty decent rust prevention and the smoother the finish the better it will cut.

The ugliest finish of any knife company has to be the Strider tigerstripe camo.
I have a WP with it and it is awful.
