different people would have different opinions on what "bushcraft" techniques would be.

to me its using anything besides a BIC lighter.

if the bugs arent eating me alive, the sun going down or the rain coming in and i have the time i like to start the fire using bushcraft techniques which to me is using a firesteel.

my favorite way is to cover cotton balls in vasoline and bring a few with me.

since only the outside of the cotton ball is covered in vasoline the inside is still dry so i open it up and one or two strikes from a steel lights it up every time.

its a well known method i'm sure you know but it REALLY works and is practically impervious to water.

thats about as far as i go.i have no desire or intention on rubbing two sticks together.
