My pocket usually holds my Swiss Army Outrider. And if I'm hiking out in the woods, or working on my property I'll typically carry a fixed blade in a sheath.

I'm fine with carrying a pocket knife in my pocket that's what it's for. However, I have serious reservations about strapping a knife onto my pack. I much prefer to keep my fixed blade in its sheath and on my hip whenever comfort and convience allow.
