Well, a couple buddies and myself decided to tackle this little hill.

We found the start of the trail without issue and started on our way.

Here is a better picture of part of it. The arrow is there to point out that little trail near the top. Remember it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

After hiking for a bit, I took this shot to show the elevation we were gaining. You will see a lot of those lakes!

Before anyone gets worried, I didn't leave Tikka behind!

She was happy to be along, however I think she thinks we are crazy now!
Still gaining more altitude

That peak sure seems a long way off..

Easier to see the entire lake now

Remember that trail I pointed out? Here is it!

The lakes are looking smaller!

Almost up the trail!

We made the saddle!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /><img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Here was the last of the marked trail to the top:

At that point, we ditched our extra gear and just carried extra water. We then went up the peak that you could see to the left in the photos from the ground. We did that since the trail pointers were that way... Turns out someone was messing around and had changed them. Once we got to the top of that, we turned around to see this!

The actual trail peak is the one on the left! Still a bit of a haul!
Took another shot of the trail to the saddle to keep things in perspective:

There is that lake again!

The valley on the other side of the saddle, looks nice from up here. There is a little stream at the bottom as well

I found this neat tag at the top of the first peak. I left it there for the next traveler who takes a wrong turn! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

This is the start of the path to the main peak:

I found this neat. This is an old mining town about 25 or 03 km away from the mountain. Neat to see it from where we were!

The trip from the saddle involved climbing to one little peak and then moving on to the next one. The last stretch to the highest point was over a lot of loose rock. Once we started on the rock stretch, I took a photo of the half way peak:

Tikka is still keeping up!

It was hard going for all of us at this point! We were just about 6000 feet up and were noticing the thinner air. Was actually weird how fast you would get winded climbing up. The good news is that a 60 or 90 second break would help us bounce right back!
Shortly after the last photo we made it to the top! Ended up just over 6000 feet up. Tikka was very happy to find some snow up there to munch on and cool down in.

My knife for the hike sitting on the rock pile marking the peak:

Once it was time to go, Tikka didn't waste any time taking off.

Tikka is still making great time:

We had decided to tackle this one based upon a book that covers hiking in the Yukon. If i ever find the author he won't be happy. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
The trail was listed as medium hard, with a round trip distance of 6 miles on a well marked trail. He mentioned at the end that he didn't finish the entire hike though.
The trail was actually about 9.5 miles with a 4200' increase in altitude. The first mile and change in was a fairly flat stretch to get to the base.
We made great time though, especially when you consider we went to the wrong peak first. Then we stopped for some food before pushing on to the main peak and still arrived in less than 3.5 hours.
Hope you like the photos! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
ps. Tikka is a little slower than usual today. I figure she must have covered at least 20 or 25 miles to our 10!
