Hey KG, I'm rollin' down towards Houston right now to look after some family assets. If you wind up in trouble or needing a helping hand with something, let me know. I'll PM you my cell number if you need it. Four of us are headed that way in a big lifted 4X4 1-ton dually Chevy. It says J-T Security Contractors across the back window and is dark blue in color. We are pulling a white 31' race car trailer that's full of supplies. We're gonna hole up in Huntsville tonight, and then move on down into the Magnolia and Tomball areas. After that we'll shoot over to just south of Humble. I'm serious man, if you need some help, we'll do what we can. We have wireless access for most of the trip I think.

Tolly,

Thanks for the post and the offer. Sorry I am just now getting it.

It is that type of quality person and people here at the yard that keep me coming back here as one of my favorite forums. If I am going to take time to chat online, I like to know it is worth good quality people.

I live in Spring TX. North of Houston off I-45 and south of Woodlands - near were Dan used to live.

I don't remember what I was even doing Friday night before the hurricane. A lot has happened since then. But, I missed your post. .... edit: I remember now: A buddy of mines birthday was Thursday the 11th and we got together Friday with some food, one of my wifes AWESOME cheesecakes, wine and stuff. I didn't get home till about 11:30 p.m. not long prior to the storm. It hadn't even started raining by then, but the wind was picking up pretty good. I think I just unplugged my sensitive electronics like computers, stereos, TV's and such from the wall anticipating electrical surges. So, I don't remember getting online Friday night (????).

I have friends up in Magnolia and Tomball areas. From what I can tell, they didn't get nearly the damage of some other areas including around were I live. I just visited a friend today in Tomball and they just got electricity back Thursday or Friday (???). There were some trees down, but a fraction of what I have seen around Spring.

I don't know about Huntsville. But, I know Xaman who frequents Swamp Rat and the Busse forums lives in Huntsville. I haven't heard from him yet. I met him once. Great guy.

I just checked and didn't see a PM. But, cell phone service was HORRIBLE up until about yesterday. I would get messages hours and sometimes a day later. And I often couldn't get a signal to call out at all.

I assume some towers were down.

Anyway, again, thanks for the very caring and generous offer. But, as far as surviving, we have been fine (up until recent heat and lack of A/C).
