Thanks, CnD. I purposely left the D-Guard on the CA loose enough to take a big wooly mitten in the winter, but also so I can reverse the grip and still use the spike on the back. I've tested it a few times, and I can reasonably say that it's comfortable enough for extended hacking and chopping. The cord wrapping also feels a little better in my hand.
