Your BATAC will perform just fine with just a good convex edge. The full convex grinds I have done and that Busse and Bark River do are almost "competition" ideal, but are not necessary for very good cutting and chopping performance. People have been using knives with flat grinds, hollow grinds, and saber grinds for centuries. Just get it nice and sharp.
