I think the SOD will be one hell of a knife, but we must also be realistic here. It's not the ideal rounder like the Scrapper 6. The S6 does it all, from gutting, skinning, boning-out game, batoning, chopping, digging. You name it the S6 will do it. The S6's size is not too small nor is it too big. Again, I think the SOD will be a great great knife, but I do feel somethings cannot be beat. In this case the S6 is that knife IMO. If the SOD had the 6.5" blade it would be the same sort of deal, but this would basically be a S6 then , with some mods.
I just feel smaller is more in this case. The S6 is king as far as the ultimate survival knife that will anything & then some, all without the weight length some knives can have on the hip. But as a camp knife the SOD will have little peers. But as a trekking knife where one needs to do a variety of chores, the S6 has few peers(if any), including most other Busskin knives over the 6.5" mark.
It's just how I see it men, don't take offense. I spend allot of time out in the bush living off the land at times, so this is my conclusion with knife size
Can't say I've lived off the land in the bush but I can say if I tried it I'd take my S6- and a spare S6 if I could find a dog kind enough to lend me one!
The S6 is about the best sharp (once you put an edge on it..) pointy thing EVER!
But the SOD will be a bit special too imho!
