That is not uncommon even for factory new knives. The good thing is that SR-77 steel is very easy to sharpen. If you are not already handy with a belt grinder, stones, sharpmaker, Lansky or some other sharpening method, I would highly reccomend taking a look here http://www.barkriverknives.com/home.html .
