I'm a fan of walking sticks personally. Yours looks to be quite a substantial piece of equipment. What sort of wood did you select? And will you carve it at all?

My most-used walking stick is a sugar maple sapling, 1 inch diameter at the butt end. I've carved a few sticks up very elaborately, but then I'm afraid to use them... so my "user" is just a simple geometric prism type of thing to show off the wood grain.

Off topic, has anybody noticed that Dan very often personally welcomes people who buy Dogfathers? Or maybe it's only because the topic was "SoD"... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
