I last walked in snow in 1979. At the time, I swore I'd never miss it. I ate in the snow. I slept in the snow. The Bundeswehr at least had the good sense to set up their command posts in towns in buildings. The US Army was always in the woods. They just seemed to enjoy making the troops as miserable as possible, I guess. I cursed the dreary cold short days and longed for the bright sun of home. But now I do remember how glorious it was in early Winter, with all the evergreens in the forests of Germany, their branches drooping down all covered in snow, like a forest of Christmas trees. I would like to enjoy it again....for about a week, tops! Nice pics.
Thanks- I will just enjoy the pictures and " think" about snow. We have gallons and gallons of rain here on the Oregon Coast- but usually no snow. The older I get the less I can take cold. After the first of the year we will be outta here for a short but " sunny" getaway. Great pictures folks
