I know this is going to come off sounding like I am an [censored], but I seriously doubt that you have ever seen a Tentipi in person. How can you make a wholehearted recommendation without even seeing one of the items in question? The only reason I say that is the Tentipi is so rare in the US, that many have not even seen one.
Yes, you do indeed seem like an [censored]. I *own* one of the Kifaru 4 man tipis, and haven't just 'seen one' like you say. I won't argue about it, though. If you say you like another manufacturer's product better, then so be it...but you've NO basis to cast dispersions on the experiences of others. I used the tipi extensively on hunting trips and I liked it fine. But, most of what I do now is purely year-round backpacking with very little hunting, and so I now prefer a lighter shelter.
