Still no power here. I saw a bunch of dump trucks driving by on Monday (the chippers blow into them) and Tue/Wed there were a dozen utility trucks roaming. So I guess they're working on this road. But it's miles long so when we'll actually get service restored is still unknown to me.

It was pretty crazy here. We went into Wallie's World a few days ago to pick up some Coleman white gas, and they were totally out. They were also out of the handy little 1Lb propane cylinders that are popular for heaters and camp stoves; those things were selling so fast that a whole pallet would be gone in minutes. Also flashlights were scarce on the ground, though curiously, only the cheap ones. There were plenty of good 20-30$ lights by Mag and Princeton. I'm not sure whether that's because people are only buying the cheap ones (definitely a case of getting what you pay for, in this product area) or whether they just got a shipment.

Generator's still going just fine. I can recommend DeVillbiss CDGT3010 (3000W) as a fairly solid piece of equipment. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> We're leaning rather heavily on it. If it does die, one of my friends in the area got her power back and said we can borrow her genny if we need it.

Temperatures in the low 20's. Got two inches of snow yesterday, followed by a little bit of freezing rain. First time this year it's looked like winter or Christmas. We're supposed to be getting a bunch more snow tomorrow, on the order of three to five inches.

Definitely some interesting things on around here as far as social dynamics in adversity.
