I carry a folder clipped to the inside of my pocket almost every day, and I
use it for all sorts of tasks. One thing that I've never thought of using
it for is self defense.
The reason for that is, is that I could never get it out of my pocket and
open fast enough for it to be effective.
A case can be made for taking it out in advance, but then you would have a
very hard time convincing cops, judge or jury that it was a self defense
situation.
Nope, even though I carry the knife, it would probably be my last choice
for self defense.
Don't forget though, that I live in Canada. Handguns are restricted weapons
here, so you can pretty much rule out carry, or having someone pull one
on you in a robbery...etc...
