Can the kitchen knife go in the dishwasher?

I'm not sure. It probably can, but I'd not risk it. A few wipes with a soaped, damp rag is all you realy need to keep it clean. It was stabilized before I got it. It came from alphaknifesupply.

Micarta is awesome. It's tough, waterproof, cheap and requires no finishing. I like the canvas micarta best - good grip for my grubby hands. I did get a vacuum pump so I am going try to stabilize my own wood - minwax wood hardener or some type of poly. It's probably best to do it before it's attached to the blade.

I started swapping out handles on my old knives and it's sort of grown from there. I'd be all over that class. It sounds like a blast. Learning from somebody whose done it before and done it well has no substitute in my book. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
