i havent gotten mine yet so i cant say exactly, but from the looks of it id say i feel pretty neutral about it.

i always have a small knife for fine work so choking up on a big knife isnt something id normally do.

as far as loosing 3/4" of edge, i guess if you really NEED to baton a certain size of wood youd be out of luck but im sure if you keep turning the log youll find a piece you can split off.
