When I returned from my morning walk, I had two packages in the mailbox: my new SMLE and my new kydex from Jeff for my Ranger Afghan.

The SMLE has to be THE hardest to sharpen Busse-made knife I have ever done. It ought to hold an edge forever. I really like this knife. It balances just in front of the first finger, just barely blade heavy. The knife has a little heft to it, a rugged substantial feel. This is a very fine outdoor knife. Perfect for skinning or chopping vegetables or any number of tasks. But that 154CM steel is a bear to sharpen, even on my Delta belt sander. Now that I finally have it sharp, I'll just strop it to keep it that way.
