I had a student move in from Washington once, he could not handle the lack of green during an OK summer.
Too funny! When I came back to California, I flew in to Oakland mid December and thought, "Wow, if by 'Golden State' they mean brown, then this really
is the Golden State!"
I envy anyone who gets to live in places like the Northwest or Hawaii!
I guess I have some decent scenery here on the central coast of California, too. Just not as green.
