The overall quality, fit and finish is way down from my previous CZs. The bolt is extremely rough, like an old Savage with some sand thrown in. My old gun dealer had problems with his recently purchased 7.62x39 carbine, too. He had some choice words for the way CZ treated him, too. The front sight was not calibrated to the rear sight, a mismatched set of sights. Took the CZ to the range today.

The forecast was for wind and pm thunderstorms, but it was still fairly calm when I arrived. On the way out of my road I got a package from UPS from BRKT.
After shooting about 150 rds, I let the rifle cool and cleaned it. Time to open the package.

A Smoke Jumper (actually CS SRK in Carbon V with a micarta handle). And a Clax. I have no idea why Mike sent me a Clax. Doesn't look like it would fair well batoning, does it?

The wind starting picking up and my 100m groups went to heck, but I did get some 1 MOA groups with the CCI 17gr bullets before it got too windy.

What I learned:
1. 17 HMR caliber rifles are finicky about ammo, like .22s.
2. 17 HMR bullets are very affected by winds.
3. the 20 gr HPs group better in the wind than the 17gr V-Max bullets, but in my rifle they hit 2" low and 1" right of poa at 100m when zeroed with 17gr bullets. That group is in the lower left quadrant of the 100 yd precision rifle target. POA was the diamond. On the way home, I saw that somebody had a much worse day than I did.

I stopped by two gun shops on the way home. No more CCI V-Max or Hornady V-Max in town. Picked up four boxes of Winchester Supreme 17gr V-Max. They are expensive at $17/50. Who knows? They may be "the ones". I had to go to the bank to get ammo money.
