Vic, that is more like it. Persistence pays off!
Unk, have fun on those p-dog's!
Thanks, sumo. This one has been a real pain. Three sets of rings, two scopes, free-foated barrel, trigger job, bedding job, stock inletted again, and various ammo swaps and trials. But it's on the money now. The Marlin still shoots a bit tighter but both shoot < 1/2" groups at 100m (109 yds). That's
smokin for a rimfire! I was only going for 1 moa (1" @ 100yds). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
And even my old skinny barreled 77/22 shoots like my 77/22 Varmint model now. All I did was remove the barrel and reinstall it. Plus a better scope. 3/16" groups @ 40m (44 yds). Rock on! I'll have another beer! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> It has been an outstanding rainy Saturday! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Sometimes I surpise myself.
